There has been a crash on a main road through a town in Sutton, South London, causing the road to be blocked in both directions this morning (August 29). The road has since reopened, however.
The A232 Pound Street was closed in both directions following an accident at around 4.45am.
The crash happened between the B278 West Street and the B277 North Street. The road has been closed for more than two hours.
On one side of the street is green parkland and the Honeywood Museum, with railings that later turn into a brick wall. On the other side of the road is the Greyhound Hotel, which has a large open beer garden facing the road, separated by a low wall with railings.
Following the museum is a pond, separated from the road by a thin and simple railing. Opposite the pond is more green space, accessible to the public.
The emergency services, including the Metropolitan Police and the London Ambulance Service, have been contacted for further information about this incident.
